Hello, my name is William. In addition to being an organist and composer, I am also a computer programmer. I operate a few websites that are dedicated to musicians and artists. In addition to my static file website, I run rankett.net (which runs Peertube, a software that operates similarly to Youtube, allowing users to upload files and share them with others) and pipe-organ.wiki (a mediawiki instance dedicated).

The cloud computing costs are not very high, and I pay for them out of pocket. However, you are welcome to help offset the costs if you like. By my calculations, all cloud computing costs (not including my personal projects) amount to rougly 25$ per month, including virtual servers, object storage, and domain names (the costs of other services I use, such as SMTP, are negligible).

At this time I don't have any special ranks or features for donating members. Donations are not expected or required in any way. Thank you for reading and your consideration.

Cost Breakdown

The two websites that I operate and are below:

• Server: Contabo VPS S Storage New York (no location fee): $8.49/month
• Domain, DNS: Porkbun: $20.06/year
• SMTP Email: AWS: within free tier

= $10.16/month. = $2.37/week.

pipe-organ.wiki uses a negligible amount of object storage on Wasabi for database backups.

• Server: Contabo VPS S SSD St. Louis: ($8.49 + $1.45) = $9.94/month
• Object Storage*: Wasabi Pay-As-You-Go: $6.99/TB/month (see rankett.net about page for amount of storage used)
• Domain Registrar and DNS: Porkbun: $12.50/year
• SMTP Email: AWS: within free tier

= ($10.98 + $6.99*amount of storage)/month. = ($2.56 + $1.63*no.TB)/week.

rankett.net uses a negligible amount of object storage on Wasabi for database backups.

Together, these two websites cost a total of roughly $6.56/week (depending on an increase of Wasabi storage use), which is why I have selected this as my goal.

Notes: In addition to the above costs, I use Purelymail for my rankett.net and williamrehwinkel.net email addresses, which costs $10/year. As of Spring, 2024, I use less than 1TB of storage on Wasabi, so I am billed the flat rate of 1TB/month.
