JET LUG Linux Users Group is a cultural association whose aim is to share and spread the use of free software with information activities, thematic meetings on digital rights and practical workshops. Free software respects the freedom of users. This means that users have the freedom to run, copy, study, distribute, improve, modify the software. To understand this concept of freedom one should think about the concert of “freedom of speech”: a freedom that everyone has the right to have. The word "free", however, does not imply the possibility of using such software in an indiscriminate manner: free software is still subject to a user license, unlike, for example, public domain software.
