After years of being unable to work since COVID started, now Frenchie is more physically unable to do manual labor as he used to do, at over 70years old. He had already effectively been forced into early retirement back when his longtime local factory closed due to "business reasons" in 2016, but was fortunate to find a smaller different one in 2018, yet they were on the verge of closing too even before the pandemic brought everything to a standstill.

But the kicker is that even during this hard time for everyone, there are companies buying up properties in poor neighborhoods & cruelly hiking the rent to ridiculously unprecedented highs. Frenchie's home of over 20yrs is one of them! But his savings - along with everything his one good friend had - was burned thru after extended unemployment was cutoff in Sept2021 while he continued to not be able to either find work (especially with his handicaps) & or do the kind that is most available (anything involving reading, driving, heavy lifting, computers, etc). Now there's accumulating debt, rent taking his entire SS retirement & seemingly no way out short of a miracle. So we're turning to the internet in hopes of finding one!
