Why does this account exist?

Previously, Besties has used the Teams feature so that every member of Besties would get a split of the Liberapay donations. This had worked fine for us, but as our expenses have gotten higher it's become clear it would be much more convenient to have joint accounts for the Besties organisation so that our expenses can be taken out of this shared account rather than us needing to coordinate expenses amongst ourselves.

Why keep the @besties team rather than move donations here?

Keeping the team allows us to keep our existing pledges, allows people to donate to individual members linked on the team page if they so choose, and lets us hypothetically add others to the team that can't use our joint accounts for whatever reason in the future.

Are my donations going anywhere different than they would before?

Donations previously were split 50/50 between Hazel and Aria, and our expenses (server costs, domains, etc) would be paid for by whoever was able. We've long since past that being reasonable! Now, donations go to a joint account which is used to pay for expenses. In any case, the donations still go to Besties members Hazel and Aria at the end of the day, and are still being used to cover the expenses of Besties all the same!
