Kia ora! I live in Aotearoa, New Zealand. Environmental activism is where I want to put my time and energy, but it doesn't leave much room for paid employment. For the last ten years I've been involved with many different grassroots campaigns including resisting deep sea oil exploration and coal mine expansions. I spend a lot of my time co-ordinating non-violent direct actions, which sometimes means getting tangled up in drawn-out court cases.

I joined Liberapay because I would rather live my life as a volunteer, organising actions and campaigns and projects to protect ecosystems. Recently I started a project to film destructive fishing practices to help get the public on board with stopping bottom trawling. Any support would go a long way towards allowing me to continue this work.

I also write articles for the Dark Mountain Project. So far my articles cover darker topics like death, community tragedy and sexual assault, but sometimes they're about Jeff Bezos eating his own bum.
