One Million Words of Love...

Hi, I'm Taj. I write queer-focused science fiction and fantasy. I've set up this Liberapay to help fund writing and sharing the massive world of stories, adventures, and devotion I've been working on for the past few years. I'd love it if you joined me!

My writing involves two main projects:

The Sundust Collective, centering on Jessyn Skye, a young engineer on a futuristic colony world, and all his friends, as they invent and scheme and love their way through the war he accidentally helps start. I'm working on the first of five arcs, Radiant Inverse, right now.

And Goldfire, a series of short fantasy adventures starring Aki and Bey, two guy friends trying to unravel both personal and magical dilemmas.

To me, these stories have always felt more like a party, inhabited by real people, than a product. I want to share that feeling, to expand the party and include others, and the best way for me to do that is to invite you all along on the journey of the story's creation.

What will that look like? Scene excerpts. Writing updates. A peek behind the scenes of where and how I work. Cat pictures. Playlists. And of course, chapters from the stories themselves.

I'm not new to writing, but I am new to sharing my work in a serious, organized way. And I want to follow a different path that the ones carved out by traditional or self-publishing. I'm lucky enough to have part-time work, and I'm also training for a tech career.

But in the meantime, your financial support not only fuels my motivation to keep putting myself out there, but also gives me the financial stability I've worked towards for a long time. As a queer transgender author, it feels miraculous to create authentic work, and to have a reliable roof over my head! Every dollar helps.
